Catalyst Equity Group announced it has acquired Warrenton, Ore.-based Carruthers Equipment Co., a company specializing in size reduction, filling and slicing equipment for the food processing industry.
The acquisition expands Catalyst's newly formed Motus3 platform of food processing equipment companies and complements the current lineup of stuffing, grinding, portioning, cooking and chilling equipment offered under the Marlen Research Corp. and Reno Technology brands.
"We are thrilled to add the Carruthers brand and people to our team, and we have been very impressed by their brand loyalty in our industry," said Adam Anderson, president of Motus3. "The Carruthers equipment will be a great addition to our current product offerings, and we expect to offer significant synergies to our customer base. In addition, Carruthers helps us enter new markets of the food processing industry that we haven't previously touched."
Gary Wygal, president and sole shareholder of Carruthers for the past 18 years, will remain with the company to ensure a smooth transition and will continue to be involved in business development of Carruthers products.
"Marlen's renowned industry reputation, product line fit and shared business philosophy of commitment to customer needs is a perfect business partner for Carruthers," said Wygal.
Carruthers will maintain its offices in Warrenton and will continue to engineer, service, manufacture and market Carruthers' products there.
